Can you wakeboard well behind a pontoon boat?

Just wondering if you can get the full effect of wakeboarding if being pulled by a pontoon boat? Does is depend solely on the speed of the boat?|||We have tubed the kids behind our pontoon, all depends on the motor size and if there are any speed restrictions on your waterway./lake....also dont overload the pontoon with people watching,, that cuts down your speed.......|||Wake boarding like water skiing rely on speed for the boarder or skier to stay up. I image you could with a large enough engine and provided there are no restrictions where you are boating. I only water ski off the back of speed boats.|||Well you can wakeboard, but as far as doing tricks off the wake, I am not sure. If pontoon boats make big wakes, then yes; if they make small wakes; yes but you won't get as high in the air.|||usaully wakeboarding behind a pontoon boat is sort of like wake boarding behind a pretty big jetski- the wake is smaller than a boat, but is i great way to get the feel of wakeboarding if you are a begginer...otherwise you can still get air on a pontoon (it does a little bit of the speed but mostly the trim) if you are pretty good. Hope this helps!
