What do you do if you're on a lake in an aluminum pontoon boat and a thunderstorm comes up?

We were miles from the marina, so all we could do was find shore and stand there in the pouring rain. we were surrounded by trees and of course the aluminum boat. No shelter anywhere.

Your supposed to squat down so you wont be the tallest thing for the lightening to hit. you sit on on the balls of your feet, with shoes on and don't touch any metal. You would have been safer on Land than the boat stand away from the trees on an open spot..You might get wet but you wouldn't be as likely to get struck by lightening.What do you do if you're on a lake in an aluminum pontoon boat and a thunderstorm comes up?
dock at someones dock if non go to land. or go back to where you came from. What a rush
