Shampoo (the kind for oily hair) - it has degreasers built in but is gentle enough to not damage the carpet. Works on oily stains in the laundry too. Just make sure it's only shampoo - not shampoo plus conditioner.

A cleaning product called "Greased Lightning" will remove virtually any stain or substance.
Brake cleaner.
i would steam clean it with a rented cleaner
