What is the best type of steering for a Pontoon boat and why ?

I am looking to buy a new pontoon boat but I am not clear on what type of steering is better, hydraulic ? postive response etc ?? whatever makes the boat track straighter and is easier to drive is what I want.. Help ?|||Bird, don't make this over complicated. Pontoons boats are steered by turning the engines. They don't have rudders. Most pontoon boats come with the steering set-up ready to hook up to whatever engine you want.

Happy boating!

Dan|||The standard steering system that comes with it is fine... newer 4 strokes are heavy though, so a hydraulic system is the real upgrade... it will be easier to turn the motor, with less feedback... don't pay more then $750 for this upgrade though...

If you are going to want the kids to drive, or if you are getting a larger heavy 4 stroke, this could be a good upgrade... but there are others options I would spend my $750 on....
